THE SCIENCE
How does Topical Finasteride 0.25% work, and what does it cost?
Finasteride blocks DHT, the hormone that shrinks hair follicles. Applied to the scalp, it lowers DHT where the follicles are, with lower levels in the bloodstream than the oral tablet in studies, though sexual side effects (lower libido, erectile changes) are still possible. Scalp irritation can happen. Compounded, used off-label, and not for use in pregnancy.

FAQ
Common questions about Topical Finasteride 0.25%
Still deciding between strengths, or between this and another protocol?
Take the 60-second quiz
Am I eligible?
Eligibility is a clinical decision. After you check out, you'll complete a medical intake; a US-licensed physician reviews it and determines whether this protocol is appropriate for you. If it isn't, the hold on your card is released and you're not charged.
Is this FDA-approved?
No. It is a compounded scalp solution, prepared for you by a US-licensed pharmacy, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Finasteride is well studied for hair loss, and your physician decides whether a topical fits your case.
How do I use it?
Apply it to a dry scalp once a day, as your physician directs. Wash your hands with soap and water right after every use.
What side effects should I expect?
Scalp dryness or itching can happen. Sexual side effects are possible, though applying it to the scalp is meant to limit how much reaches the bloodstream.
Is it safe for others at home?
Anyone who is or may become pregnant should not touch the solution or your treated scalp.
How is it shipped?
Discreetly, in plain, unbranded packaging, straight from a US-licensed pharmacy. No special handling needed; store it as your pharmacy label directs.
What if I'm not approved?
You're not charged. Checkout places a temporary hold on your card, and it's released if a physician doesn't approve your protocol. Where possible, your physician may suggest an alternative that fits your case.
What's included, and what's billed separately?
Your price covers your physician review, your prescription, messaging with your care team and, for most protocols, your medication and shipping from a US-licensed pharmacy. Brand-name GLP-1 care is the exception: you buy the medication from the manufacturer's own pharmacy. For isotretinoin, the required lab work (blood tests, and monthly pregnancy tests if you can become pregnant) is billed separately by the lab.
How quickly will it arrive?
Once a physician approves your protocol, the pharmacy prepares your prescription and ships it to you. Your dashboard shows the status and tracking at every step.
Can I cancel or pause?
Yes, there's no lock-in. You can pause or cancel your protocol anytime from your dashboard before your next fulfilment.
